Hey Nerds: Blockchain

If you make money, the rest is gravy. So if you miss out on gravy, it's tough to feel too bad.

As annoying as getting off the Shopify train early was, and missing out on a LOT of charbroiled chicken sandwich money, I still made money on that, so it doesn't kill me or anything.

Selling something at a substantial loss would hurt though.

So you should be celebrating your 60% gain.

of course....

and I was actually being responsible and following my plan.

I've learned with drug stocks to not count out anything. The broad market being weak as pussy can only help (or I guess, hurt?) the cause.

yeah...who knows. but i think people have that "cannabis stocks are crap and always fuck you" recency bias. but these things are now money making machines

Yup. I mean it's the reason I'm in but not deeply in. I have recency bias + they are on trash illiquid exchanges where games can be played. I mean, if I can play games, I'm sure an actual whale can do it far more effectively. But yeah, I'm in because the bottom could be close but I'm still about 90% cash because I had a decade making year already so I'm protecting myself AND well yeah, I know what could happen. If SPX wasn't in a seemingly vicious downtrend I'd be more confident that we won't see $20 or $17.. In fact I'd probably be a lot heavier in this shit as November comes closer and closer.

Just going to continue to nibble every few percent. I just nibbled some more at 24.68. I mean, another 30% down from here means over a 50% dump from TRUL highs. Would be nutso. But that kind of drop has happened every other time in this sector after bull runs.

I have more $$$ in pot stocks now than ever....just because they have gone up so much, and while I trade discretionally around core positions, i would need a dramatic turn of events in the business narrative (not the market narrative) for me to sell.

tldr; I want to own a piece of this business and happy to have people like Kim Rivers work their asses off for my retirement fund

(I remember some guy on reddit years ago yammer that they'd never invest in TRUL because their CEO is a woman. They chose MMEN and IAN instead)

Yeah I'm good with that. I went nuts when everything was discounted in March. Was a great time to hunt for value plays as those were the ones that got the 200-300% moves. Other than meme stocks like Tesla.. I wouldn't call that a value play, but what the fuck do I know?

this selloff is very targeted towards retail tech darlings

in my long term accounts: PINS, ROKU, WORK and FSLY are down but GME, MYOV, PSNL, NVTA, DKNG, QTNT, INSG, LAC are up.

After taking profits on Thumb in the 18.35-18.40 range in the past couple of days my entire MJ position is a 70-30 split between TRUL and Thumb. I don't plan on removing more Thumb but I may increase my positions on them and of course TRUL depending on what I see. Having cash is giving me beautiful comfort. I feel very in control of this carnage.

yeah...we were both buying TRUL at $7-$8

It was a far easier time. Market cap of under a billion for a profitable company growing at 20+% per quarter. Ridiculous. I went heaviest on Thumb at $5-7.

Then again, Covid was a mindfuck. Despair can be excruciating mentally. Right or wrong (in fairness, I could have been wrong) I was not really that concerned about my MJ darlings.

Solid dip buying on The Lieve. Thumb still a rock. Overall today was green with my Lieve dip buy + CB2 Insights gains + Thumb sideways action.

I thought of this too. A Presto lock of the week is a NJ based acquisition next IMO. It'll be crazily priced. Extremely expensive. But they have the cash and the balance sheet to do it. And having a large presence in NJ, PA and dominating Florida puts them in a real nice spot. The key: all three states are extremely profitable with huge ass margins. They could of course search for very immature markets and bleed cash in the meantime while hoping things mature (with far cheaper acquisition prices) or they can blow their wad for markets that you know will be worthwhile. I like the latter option. GTII got in most of their markets by winning licenses years ago which is the cheapest way to do it. Curaleaf won licenses but also acquired everything in sight; some good value and some bad value and now Trulieve set up shop in 1 state, dominated and are spending out of their ******* for other high rising markets. I suspect every strategy works in the end but to what extent? WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!!!!

bizarro day...PINS, WORK and FSLY eventually ended green on a day when tech was down 1.33%. most of the damage involved big cap names

AAPL was the biggest loser -3%. Google and Amazon also underperformed.

bears have to be a little disappointed the rest of the market didn't follow suit.

I still think we're not done with the downside....but imma gonna take it day by day.

Couple of tidbits in the weed patch. Canopy has a deal with acreage that they are now allowed to buy a competing MSO (with conditions of course). Terrascend, come on down!

And finally the number crunchers of the world came out with a fresh trulieve projection for Q3 and early on it looked stagnant. Now we're looking at potentially 10% qoq growth. Not quite the 26% we saw in Q2 but growth is growth. Thumb, Cresco, and Cura will likely be in the 30s% growth based on my own expectations with Cresco likely leading the charge in terms of being impressive (margins will be more comparable to the big boys as per their guidance).
