Wait are we supposed to be surprised that many hedge funds made fucking bank from this? I'd be seriously concerned about their competency if they didn't.
eyes on SNOW and NKLA today. NKLA might punch through the 200MA on the daily chart (got rejected from it yesterday). SNOW looks like a double bottom. up 4% pre market.
Oh Presto you're a bad man.Trimmed Thumb, 33.07. Nibbled Trulieve, 48.92 to get a TOUCH more exposure to them. Was really overweight thumb. Like super seriously, really overweight. Still am but not as much now.
So what do you do, you have some percentage of your mj (or overall) portfolio allocated between these names?Oh Presto you're a bad man.
I play the arbitrages between the stocks. Thumb dumped aggressively the last few days. Like 20% in two days. So I went overweight Thumb and sold all my TRUL. TRUL dumped hard today and yesterday so I'm slowly accumulating on them.So what do you do, you have some percentage of your mj (or overall) portfolio allocated between these names?
Like if TRUL goes up and passes say 20% of your overall mj, then you trim it back down to 20% and buy more of other stuff to get their percentages back up?
hopped on the fcel train
Actually, a few might be leaving the party to join Apple.I think Apple is poised to join in on the fun here, just late getting to the party.
How is that arbitrage?I play the arbitrages between the stocks. Thumb dumped aggressively the last few days. Like 20% in two days. So I went overweight Thumb and sold all my TRUL. TRUL dumped hard today and yesterday so I'm slowly accumulating on them.
Today Thumb has recovered the most and TRUL has blasted from their low of the day. They all follow each other, but the beautiful part about the CSE/OTC is that the market gives you time to react to what other stocks are doing. GTII going up 4+% and TRUL being down a few % was never going to last. I was pretty sure TRUL would recover or Thumb would dump to catch up to TRUL. So I trim Thumb, and buy TRUL.
(Trimmed more Thumb at 33.80 just now)
But yeah, I have a certain amount of cash in my portfolio that I'd like to keep on the sidelines. I was below that until this very moment. I went aggressive on Thumb the last two days and it paid.
If the sector works like that, sure. That would be a great play. The US MJ sector has behaved this way since the very beginning. It's no coincidence that the hardest, most aggressive dumpers in the last 2-3 days are currently up the most in the sector. That's why I was overweight on them. And now I can lighten my load and get towards a more diversified folio that is preferable long-term. Especially after seeing Trulieve dump on open. That was a gimme. Was never going to last. How is that arbitrage?
It's like saying when Netflix goes up, I sell a little and buy Disney, and then when Disney goes up, I sell a little and buy Netflix.
