Hey Nerds: Blockchain

Hate penny stocks as you already know. But almost as much I hate buying into something after the run up. Like I don't even consider Amazon even though they're going to be ruling the world for eternity.

The thing that has kept me away from the Amazons out there is the high price. I like to hold certain minimum numbers of shares. I don't like having just a few shares of something. Go big or go home, but I always take my chances on companies before they fly away. Buying in when they are already soaring and would take a big chunk of cash to do what I want to do, gives me too much pause. If only it had come down a little harder over the past week, I probably would've pulled the trigger, but it never dropped below $350 and I was targeting $300, which seemed like a possibility with all the weakness.

But you'd be happy if you bought 15 shares of ZM an hour ago.

Last week in the "meltdown" I started my ABNB position: it was 50 shares (at 175)....sold 10 shares very quickly at 189....now I have 40 shares with a decent cushion. Tickled pink about it.

I tend to believe that if it hit 300, you have told yourself..."I'm buying at 275"....no shade intended...buying the dip is hard and investors generally want an even bigger discount when prices are in free fall

because the thing with ZM, is that it's market cap is insane...it'll never be had at a value

There are about 5000 public companies in the world, ZM is already in the top 100 in terms of market cap.

I can understand why you think that, but I usually set myself a target price and wait for it. So I probably would've seen it dip to $298 or so and would've bought right there. It still would've been a big purchase, but I wanted it. If I'd bought 15 shares an hour ago, honestly it would feel like unfinished business, some partially eaten cookie that I'd just sell off at some point to fund some other purchase. Even right now with PLTR, I've only bought 40% of my position. If it goes to $50 tomorrow, I would start considering whether to sell the shares I have rather than chase the runaway train. It's some weird OCD thing I have with numbers and superstition. Like, it honestly annoys me like crazy that Apple did the 4 for 1 split because it messes with my numbers. Because it was forced on me, I've eased up a bit because I'm not selling it, and so the symmetry in my account is off for reasons outside my control, so at this point what's a little more asymmetry? This is going to bother me...

But look at its growth. If one company has performed in a way to create expectations that it'll grow into its valuation, it's that one. \

Revenue 369% higher than last year. That's obscene.

Agreed

next year's comp won't be that kind tho...and I say that as someone who believes ZM is here to stay, even after Covid is a distant memory

Agreed that I have that or you're saying you have some of that too?

agree that you have that :ROFLMAO:

we all have our quirks tho...I think you need to be happier when your stocks go up (regardless of stock splits, nominal values, etc)...we don't want quirks to get in the way of profits

Anyone know of a sector that will continually post 100% growth yoy for the foreseeable future? Asking for a friend.

Oh I'm happy. Today was a monster day. I think maybe my third or fourth all time best day? But I compartmentalize my happiness. In terms of what I have, very happy. In terms of next moves, I dropped the ball. I really do kinda view these two areas as two separate kinds of performance. Everything I did before today, that's history. Like planting trees. I already planted those. I'm looking for the next place to dig.

Preston has been on this bandwagon for months and lost tremendous amounts of potential profits because of this take. **** you seeking Alpha. Where were you three months ago?

I know....the analysis might be right but it ain't new. Really lame that this shit actually moves a stock over 5% in an hour.

It's common sense. And for the record I was wrong about their valuation. And so is seeking Alpha. The truth is in the price action.

price is truth, but I think it's ok to sell something that no longer meets your value parameters. it's not like there are no other options vying for your cannabis investing dollars

I can't wait for cannabis earnings season to drop....feels like we've been waiting forever
