I'm with you, JB. The bottom line is that it looks like Johnson was the victim of a crime. There's should always be room in society for compassion for crime victims.

In hindsight, JJ did exactly what most parents of teens/college/young adult want -- for him to listen to them. (He just happened to have parents who didn't give good advice and saw his life as an extension of theirs)

How sad for him in his mid 20s to become aware of the hole they dug for him.... and good for him to takes steps to rectify his personal finances while he's cut off personal ties...to his parents.

Someone would have to do a WHOLE lot more than snub my favorite hockey team for me not to have loads of sympathy.

(I'll admit my perspective is shaded by 2 things: having gotten to the phase of parenting that includes teens/college kids & for witnessing what an in-law did to their parent's finances and the impact on the entire family)
