Laval Rocket Thread

In all of Bergevin’s trades the thing that I liked most is that players that left us never got better than what they were with us (except Sergachev), which took 5 years into his regime to execute in terms of transaction.

HUGO had Lehkonen and Romanov in his first year.

I would still take our current admin over Bergy. Just pointing out that making and/or winning trades isn’t everything. Knowing your own players well and what they can do is much more important, hence the approach to ensuring young players stay motivated and get PT works well to that effect.

And now you have your proof!
I mean Denis Savard was probably the biggest case for this, and Recchi to a lesser extent (mostly due to not playing on an offensive powerhouse), but guys like Smith, Damphousse, Muller, Bellows, Turgeon all did well with us. Most of the others were just cases of getting them past their prime.

I always thought that this biased perception was never really based on reality.
Mark Recchi went from 123 and 107 points in his last 2 seasons in Philly to seasons of 78, 80, and 74 points in Montreal.

Lehkonen's best ever year as a Hab: 29 points. In the past 3 seasons in Colorado: 51, 34, and 45 points.
