In general the Swiss league is more lucrative, not to mention they get incentives like free car, rent, tax breaks. And they play less games, with less travel. The problem is, its not easy for imports to keep their jobs, the expectations are a lot higher. And some teams decide they can't afford to play top players top salary for more than one season

The AHL is more like the NHL than the Swiss league is. More physical.

Yup same with other euro leagues

My buddies son played in Finland and made about 90k with free apartment , car , etc...

He played 2 years but the league catered to older euros

He loved it but for others it was all business of playing hockey and being home with their families

I dont think top players make more than 200k in most euro leagues
