Leaf Rumours

The best player in baseball.

When you own up to Mike Komisarek, Jake...Jake Horton, Iginla,Forsberg, Lupul hates Carlyle and will never re sign, etc.

Clarkson to Toronto was a rumour that started months before the end of the season. I've never doubt that some of the people here have solid sources. Killer for example, was spot on with breaking stuff during the free agent period this year. He was saying it here before any of the talking heads in the twitterverse were getting it out.

I've simply seen you be wrong too many times, and hilariously wrong...impossibly wrong. I know, as most of us here know, that you have contacts with some former NHL'ers, nobody has ever disputed that. But I think that far too often, you use that to pass off your personal opinion as some sort of insider information.

Even if you nail something now, it's too late. You're the boy who cried wolf.

BOOM! Well said. :thumbup1:

I think there's no reason Clarkson doesn't score 30 on a line with Kadri and Lupul.

In fact, I think it's far more likely than not.

That's going to be tough.

His playing time in TO shouldn't be much different than it was in NJ. He played 17:25 on the Devils (5th among Fowards) with 3:33 of PP time (3rd among Forwards). Icetime might decrease in Toronto, especially on the PP.

If his linemates are Lupul/Kadri, they could help his production, but he played mostly with Elias in NJ who isn't exactly a scrub.

His role/icetime and quality of linemates won't change all that much despite the fact he's going from one of the worst offensive teams to one of the best. I think he will be around his NJ pace -- 25ish goals, 40-45ish points.

When you make 100 courageous calls, of course you are going to be wrong five times. Is that the only fugging response you can come up with? Thanks again to the two other guys. And ex players? Awful for information. As I have found out a long, long time ago. I met an ex Leaf at a bar who I used to watch play, and this guy was dead broke, living off a meaningless NHL pension, and yet he still was terrified of talking about anything meaningful re: the NHL. Apart from one nice tidbit that Bobby Clarke was the most hyped cowardly piece of crap in NHL history. That was his humble opinion. NHL players are robotically trained to say nothing about this "game".

My contacts? Power players, with bank, who understand truly that this is a meat market with under the table deals galore in the business of hockey. And their information, as evidenced by my call of Gauthier, is extremely salient information. Doesn't always come to fruition, as anyone beyond the age of putting a tooth under the blanket understands, but salient nonetheless.

Yeah, I did actually. Thanks. And nice pic of Keon. I saw a youtube clip of Keon, getting a breakway and going a fair way up the ice etc... a couple of years back. And let me tell ya, he could FLY, with those old skates that had the support of a beach slipper, I can only imagine what that fuccer could do with modern day ski boot skates. I haven't been able to find the video since.

Thanks. I talk to his son at work at the time - quiet guy just like his old man, but a good Irishman too. In fact, the next jersey I get will be of Dave Sr. (one of the 1967 ones).
