Leaf Rumours

He was out for just a couple of weeks. And he's been skating for over a week. There's absolutely zero need for him to "get his legs back" with the Marlies. Anyways, as much as I don't like the move, at least we're keeping him out for guys like Lombardi, Bozak and Frattin instead of for Joey Crabb or Timmay Brent.

And speaking of Crabb, it'll be interesting to see what happens if they plug Kadri onto the left side of the Marlies' top line along with Colborne and Crabb (who already have 24 points between them in 6 games).

Oh, and a death sentence for any Leaf fan who presents us trading for Gomez as a good idea.

Unless MLSE is willing to bury $17.5M over the next three years in the AHL, and the Habs are willing to take Mike Komisarek and throw in a couple of first round picks...no chance in hell.

Of that list, Frattin and Dupuis would be the only ones even remotely on the demote/waive list.

If not for an injury to Armstrong, Kadri would be playing with the Marlies for the last week - what's all the hooplah?

that the only thing dumber than burying kadri in the ahl right now would be sitting him in the press box.

i mean, they have had zero problem sticking franson or komisarek in the press box to play gardiner.

the love affair with frattin is ridiculous, and none of dupuis, bozak or lombardi have performed well enough to warrant locking down a spot in the lineup.

With Ottawa on the full rebuild... would you (and would they) look to make that move of Spezza for say??? Kadri, plus plus??

Kadri and Zibanijad (sp) would be an interesting combo.

In my mind Lombardi gets some slack, he hasnt cost us and has the potential to help. Hes actually been pretty decent I think. Kadri was good against Boston but has been pretty invisible since. Im ok with him goin down.

I don't like the move, but I can't be nearly as upset as I was last year. Frattin-Bozak-Lombardi should be a helluva 3rd line.

What's more interesting is thinking about what happens when Army comes back.

Chances are, by the time Army comes back someone else will be injured up front. If not, either Frattin will have proved he doesn't belong by then and Army slides into his spot on the third line, or if Frattin has proved he should stay, to the fourth line with Armstrong.

You don't have to demote them. Rosehill is the guy that should be going down, then you can sit out one of those guys and Orr.

And yeah Kadri would have been playing with the Marlies, but that doesn't mean he SHOULD have been playing with the Marlies.

Trade has got to be coming at some point.

Not only should Kadri be in there, but Colborne is looking pretty damn close.

Showcasing the likes of Bozak and Lombardi as much as possible might make plenty of sense. You gotta think Colborne fits Burke's 3rd line profile much more than Bozak does, and Lombardi isn't exactly a perfect fit either.

Frattin - Colborne - Armstrong might be right up Burke''s 3rd line alley.

Ugh you would never know that Kadri is one of the Leafs top prospects by the way they treat him. It's like they want him to fail.

Oh well, at least we're not playing total plugs over him. Still not sure what Frattin has done to guarantee himself a spot in the lineup every day.

I'll be interested to see what the glass man can do to help our PP.

A half-season of Marlies hockey for both Colborne and Kadri wouldn't be the end of the world.

Of course it wouldn't be the end of the world for Frattin either...
