Leaf Rumours

MacT doesn't want Phaneuf unless he can trade a bad contract back to the Leafs unfortunately. Every G.M. in the NHL saw our multi million dollar captain play footsie with Chara at the peak of his playoff career to sink the Leafs. Was the loss Phaneuf's fault? No. Did he puss out with Chara. Completely. And utterly.

He is finished within the league as being considered a real man's, playoff player. Sure he will be picked up after this year, but Nonis/Tanenbaum won't even make a bid.

Nonis has his hands tied, and he wants Kessel BAD, tied up. Kadri and Franson are wanted as well. And if possible, Franson more than Kadri. That is why I laugh at Franson being traded.

Oh and Larry T. thinks adding Cammelieri would be good for the Jewish guys who support the team. Look for something stupid there to happen possibly.

The Leafs match any offer for him at this point, but it does make it more likely that they deal Franson if such a scenario arises.
 
Cammelieri is Jewish. And up till recently a pretty fine hockey player. Haven't followed his career the past two years, so I cannot comment on his game now. And its just something that is being considered by MLSE. And LeafGM, love to see you say that up front and personal, you brave internet monkey.

I think Toronto wants to punish Phaneuf, so they are trying to trade one big contract for another. You have no idea how upset MLSE is at Phaneuf. No idea. If he is on the team at the start of the season, could disrupt the whole season. Lotta discontent.

Course Nonis wants to get more, but no one wants Phaneuf, not for young valuable assets.

Nonis has clearly done everything his coach has asked him to do so far, and if you fhink carlyle wantts phaneuf gone after relying on him more than any dman ever,you're crazy.

And it seems like team canada brass didn't get teeds' memo on phaneuf, either.
 
Cammalleri's contract is terrible, and the very reason Burke traded for Kessel.

Cammalleri would be given away at this point, but Calgary needs to ice a team (and meet the cap floor).

..and clearly Nonis is posturing with Franson, to trade him would mean that another team would have to pony up his contract demands AND trade assets at least in line with an offer sheet. Methinks Franson will take another 1 year deal, or a short-term at average money. If he can keep up his play over a season or two - he'll get paid.

That contract wasn't a disaster at first, I was a big fan of Cammalleri when he played for the habs. That year he had the most goals in the postseason despite being out in conference finals was awesome. Can't imagine the leafs would look to get him at this point though unless calgary wants like liles and some other overpaid player.
 
I'd take Cammalleri fo sho... he isn't playing great cuz he's in Calgary. But not for Phaneuf as mentioned previously... and I am sure as hell Calgary won't trade their only goal scorer left for Liles. So it aint happenin.
 
I sort of appreciate Dion Phaneuf, but when he gets tired, he is the worst defenceman on the team versus possibly the best. And his annoying habit of being awful cost him a very, very big fan up top in MLSE. Please guys, watch this footage of the highlights in Game Seven. Franson made two horrible plays, to allow goal one, BUT PHANEUF, PHANEUF, made two HEINOUS plays on the 4-3 goal and was tossed away like a bag of peanuts by Chara on goal 4-4.

Is it fair? Shit, life ain't fair, but PHANEUF is hated and despised up top, and they are considering any offer they get and they ain't getting any to their great disappointment.

One big knock still against MLSE, when they hate a player they sure do a lousy job of hiding it. And the entire NHL knows Phaneuf is available for .10 cents on an IRAQUI Dinar.

If you think I don't hear things, then I guess I pulled that giraffe we picked in the first round out of a crystal ball or hat. And I know many people believe in those things, so, so be it.
