Leafs/Habs/Sens 2014-15

Exhibit A.

Instead of maybe arguing why Karlsson isn't the best defenseman in the game (as you stated a few pages ago) you come back with a coy one-liner about a comparison one poster made a decade ago.

The level of discourse from most posters here lately seems to be at an all time low.

You guys are such whiny little pussies.

Man, the guys here have the Sens fans pegged. Reading this tripe and it reeks of little brother trying to show he's a man now.

Yup and ironic thing is the Sens aren't even IN the playoffs yet, yet their fans are acting superior gotta love it:sarcasm

Funny that you are so quick to attack the scoring chances differential stat that shows the Sens nears the top of the league, yet marry yourself to the CF stat like the holy grail.

Because it's been attempted before by other analysts and they've all been heavily flawed. As in, the statistic has had no predictive value

Let's take a look at CF ( which shows the Sens as ~100 point playoff team during their "lucky" streak) and see how close a relationship it has to actual results.
#1 CF team in the league? LA Kings...you know that team not in the playoffs and below the Sens in the league standings.
7th best CF, Carolina Hurricanes...you know that team currently 26th overall in the standings and fighting it out with the mighty Leafs for draft position.

Where do the President's trophy winning NYR rank? 20th, behind the Sens.
Let's just say using that stat to predict future success is a fools game (as proved by your use of it)

The Number One PDO team in the nhl...NYR by a healthy margin at 102. I must have missed your posts describing their whole season as luck driven....

You just can't handle the fact that the Sens turned a corner when they changed coaches and inserted the young guns into the line up.

The amount of ignorance of how these numbers work and what they mean is hilarious. I'm not even going to bother correcting it. You just keep being you man, please don't ever change.

Currently constructed, they are a playoff level team while being one of the youngest and cheapest teams in the NHL. They have shown great character and resiliency during this season, in stark contrast to your Leafs, so I get why you are so jealous. Just stop pretending your current criticism is backed by solid predictors and is fueled by anything but envy and hatred.

You don't know what you think you know, and I don't have the give a **** level to educate you.

Believe whatever you want to believe little man, just don't disappear like a bitch when you're wrong this time.

Is it really that surprising that the Leaf fans around here, in general, aren't chomping at the bit to get into a detailed discussion about the Ottawa Senators?

As a Leaf fan, your franchise just isn't really all that relevant to me. And that's not meant as a "lil bro" joke. It's more that we're not jockeying with you for playoff positioning, and you're not a potential matchup for us in the playoffs. With the Leafs on a verge of a full rebuild, that's unlikely to change for the next couple of years. It's been over 10 years since we last had a playoff series against each other, and all of the Leafs who participated in that series are gone. On your side, I guess Chris Neil & Chris Phillips would be the only hold-overs?

We don't even play as often in the regular season anymore---we had four games against you this year, and all four of them came in the back-half of the season, when we were already in free-fall mode and most of us weren't even bothering to watch Leaf games.

For the record, as much as I often disagree with Mindz, I do applaud his ability to actually formulate an argument.

Too many fans (mostly Habs) can't get through a post without making a "sens are irrelevant", "lil bro", or "banner" joke. I know that it's largely in response to one or two posters who you guys feel troll, but it's alittle disappointing when I do want to talk puck.

You'll notice that I only throw around the "banner" comment when a Sen fan is going on about a 2 year old 1st round victory as if it has any real meaning still.

As for Mindz being able to "actually formulate an argument." Hell yeah, he's as good as anyone I've ever seen. Especially when you consider how prolific he is. Some guys can make great arguments backed up by stats from time to time... but Mindz can put out several incredibly well formulated arguments a day. It's remarkable. Even with all that I've never seen you concede an argument to him. So why on Earth would I waste hours trying to come up with something that Mindz is able to whip off in minutes only to get absolutely nowhere?

Not only that... I'm not sitting here trying to convince you that the Sens streak is all smoke and mirrors. I don't need to tell you that it's unsustainable. Most teams go through hot streaks. The Leafs had a 10-1-0 streak or something like that. Habs had a streak where they were something like 15-2-2... the Sens streak is even more impressive of course. The streak has been part of what makes the Sens a bubble team this season. Does it bode well for next season? Definitely possible but we've seen examples pointing to yes and no.

Let's say ... sens fans didn't post here. Would anyone give them more than a passing thought? I sure wouldn't.

Good for them if they make the playoffs. zzzzzz

Obviously hate Sens; however Boston imploding is way sweater for me; ****ing awesome actually; Sens deserve a spot IMO

Sorry for telling the truth. To be fair though... I don't really give many teams much thought besides the

Habs
Pens (wife's team)
Bruins (hate them with a passion)
Jets (lived there much of my life and I'd like to see then do well)
Leafs (I spend a lot of time here and as a Hab fan it's my job to cheer against the Leafs)
