Yep, I don't think that anyone has disputed that over the past 3 seasons.
Doesn't need to be the best defensive player in the league. The puck is usually on his stick.Too bad he can't play defence particularly well

Sure. That will likely come with a healthy off-season of training. No, but the Sens need him to be better than he was this year defensively, IMO.
He's at 6.5m because he signed a deal as an RFA, no other reason. If he was one of the best defensive blue liners as well he'd be at $8M plus per season. Can't have it all. If anything, he's a bargain at $6.5M just for the offense he brings.
I think he does, largely.Weird how a guy like Kessel doesn't get that same latitude.

He is what he is.
Really? There are plenty of people acting like the team in front of us right now is the "Real Leafs."
The Real Leafs missed the playoffs again. How they ended up with 84 points doesn't really matter, that is what they were this year. As has been stated, the real leafs are no more than 6 straight win Leafs than the 8 straight loss leafs. However, the 84 point Leafs are the real 13-14 Leafs, a team that missed the playoffs again.
You were implying the real Leafs were not the team they were at the end of the season. Fine. They also were not the six straight win team from earlier in the year. Ultimately, they are what they are, a team that was only two over .500 this year.
