Holy shit. Bottom could fall out at his age but that’s one serious value based on his 21-22.

He’d have to drop off a lot IMO and I’m pretty pro Sandin. I don’t really see the risk here. It’s Muzzin I’m questioning.

If there were ever a guy you fear falling off a cliff you prolly want him to make 800k. Lou's version of this deal was signing Hainsey for 6m over 2 years. Good news is Gio was a legit very good top 4 d last year so, while it's possible he goes cliff diving, the rewards are infinitely higher than the risks here. If you trust your coach to make him the 7 or 8 if he's truly that bad, there's no real risk at all.
 
If he plays at top two pair levels then it’s a steal. If he plays at bottom pair levels then it’s great value. This is a win/win imo.

Zero real risk. If a player is pushing a roster spot Gio gets sent down and all his cap hit is available to the Leafs. If it doesn't happen it means Gio is playing really well... for 800k.

Zero real risk. Only money.
