That argument never made sense….it fits-in with Gainey being afraid of cap when it was introduced, and we never spent to get players while other teams went all out knowing Bettman would find loopholes to never penalize them. Did Nashville ever pay penalty on Weber contract? Of course not, they allowed teams to send these contracts to other teams (like we did with Price)….

Having cap space won’t be a great selling argument for Makar to come here….Florida can dump their salaries to other teams and welcome Makar with open arms (as an example)….

If Makar comes here, it won’t be because of money, because 30 teams would readily find ways to make space for him
