Les Habitants Prospects Thread

Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread - 08'-09' update

thanks for the link

and for updating this thread!

Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread - 08'-09' update

count and komi will be happy that Torp wants to learn from 51!

I didn't hear much about Torp last year...but if he was hurt that would explain a lot....anyone know the injury? and did it keep him out the entire year? (that is what it sounds like)

Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread - 08'-09' update

I was thinking the same thing when I read that about Bouillon.

Not sure what the injury was, but during the World Juniors, they were comparing him to Ulf Samuelsson and Niklas Kronwall. Not quite as big but he plays with an edge.

Yup @ the Bouillon comparison.

At the first Dev. Camp, Torp reminded me exactly of Bouillon. A kinda undersized guy who played real tough in corners and never backed down to anyone.

Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread - 08'-09' update

The article is off. It said Torp has a good shot, which Bouillion certainly doesn't.

Ya .....he missed all season with a shoulder injury from a fight in early in the 2007/2008 season.

Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread - 08'-09' update

Jason Missiaen stats look rather bad until you look at the fact he has already faced over 900 shots in 24 games. That's almost 38 shot a game he has to deal with. What also is not in the stats is that he is playing behind a real young Petes defence (6 rookies i'm pretty sure)For him to have a .901 goals against averageand 3.80 goals is quite impressive.
He's facing alot of rubber and getting the majority of the games in Peterborough. Which is great for his developement IMO.

Yannick Weber was voted as a starter for the AHL All-Star Game for PlanetUSA.

He's the only Hamilton player on either roster.

Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread - 08'-09' update

PK Subban and the Bulls faced off against the Jaon Missiaen and the Petes last night. The Bulls had 42 in a 4-2 losing effort with PK had a poor showing recording no points and a -3.

As for Missiaen he still being peppered as he faced another 42 shots. For me he is one of our more intriguing prospects for his performance this season so far and the fact he stands 6'8" tall. He is still a long way off but it helps his developement that he's the starter and playing for a real weak team in Peterborough.

Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread - 08'-09' update

Interesting stats after looking at hockeydb.

Yanick Lehoux (Center) is the leading scorer with 34 points in 37 games. David Desharnais is second with 27 points in 37 games.

Shawn Belle has the best +/- on the team with +18.

Greg Stewart is far and away the leader in penalty minutes with 140 PIMs. He also has 7 goals. Not bad.

Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread - 08'-09' update

They have an interesting team done there. Gainey has done a good job.

Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread - 08'-09' update

Nice.

How is Belle? Can he replace Breezer?

Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread - 08'-09' update

He's been solid for the Dogs. Belle has impressed me as you just don't notice him and to me that's good for a defensive defensemen. He also sticks up for his teammates, has a good frame and strength. Not going to replace Brisebois on the powerplay that i am sure of.

Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread - 08'-09' update

Thanks for the infos.

I was thinking more along the lines of if we get a decent top 4 dman for the PP...can Belle and Bou play together and have breezer as the 7th.
