What are we retaining a mil on a 2x 2.5 mil contract ....but Alzner can sit on our cap for half a decadeSo retaining cap on a mistake signing is ok but paying your guy isn't.
Where's the advil already
Go move Anderson or Gally and see how that goes

no issue with him at 1 year at 2 milArmia is actually a very good hockey player once you realize he's not an offensive beast. His nerdies are very good.
BingoKerfoot could be another option. He was signed on a 2 years contract 2 years ago, not sure why we would need to got 5 years with Evans.
And let's be honest, there is a bit of a recency bias, I was willing to dump him last year when he had 2 goals in his first 49 games.
BingoThere's no scenario where I'd give Jake Evans a 5 year contract, let alone $4M AAV.
I think it's all but guaranteed we can get at least a second round pick for him by the end of the year.
Kerfoot is a better option than Gourde sure. Evans is better at PK. 2-3 years is perfect but his agent will demand more.Kerfoot could be another option. He was signed on a 2 years contract 2 years ago, not sure why we would need to got 5 years with Evans.
That's you. I've always liked Evans and last year there were better players available UFA than this year. I don't expect Evans to suddenly become a scorer but he's a good player away from the puck. And let's be honest, there is a bit of a recency bias, I was willing to dump him last year when he had 2 goals in his first 49 games.
So use a dumb move to justify another? What are we retaining a mil on a 2x 2.5 mil contract ....but Alzner can sit on our cap for half a decade
WTF are you even talking about?Go move Anderson or Gally and see how that goes
That would be a Bergevin move to justify his trading a first for DvoHabs are definitely gonna let Evans walk and sign Dvorak long term.
I like Evans too, but last year I was starting to get over him, but he finished the season well and has been playing exceptionally well this year. I prefer going with the player we know in general.Kerfoot is a better option than Gourde sure. Evans is better at PK. 2-3 years is perfect but his agent will demand more.

Evans for 2 years would be perfect imo. Though he will obviously want more.Evans is outperforming him this year. Gourde is on the decline. Big time.
When he was 28? Id agree with you.
That's in 4 years and in your estimation. Do you think Molson will wait another 4 years after pushing the "in the mix" narrative?I'm really looking at 4 years for habs to be contenders.
At centre we will look like
Suzuki
Hagens /Misa / Hage / Something
Dach
Beck
Kapenen
Davidson
Don't see a place for Evans with real money.
Yeah, Evans is having a career year. I don't expect him to repeat a 31% shooting percentage.Evans is outperforming him this year. Gourde is on the decline. Big time.

Gourde is a 0.57 ppg player that was bolstered by one 64 point season which is like what Evans is doing with this hot streak. Evans is a 0.37 ppg player historically and that's what he should be paid on. Also, Gourde was making far more than 1.7m per.Yeah, Evans is having a career year. Gourde is pretty much on pace for his normal stats, and has some of the best analytics on the Kraken. But my point was just to show that there is some options.
Very good, which is why I'd like to keep him.Our fourth line is very good. Think about that for a second.
He's having a better season than last year, when the whole team went to shit.Gourde is a 0.57 ppg player that was bolstered by one 64 point season which is like what Evans is doing with this hot streak. Gourde is on the decline at almost every metric this year.
