Kerfoot is a better option than Gourde sure. Evans is better at PK. 2-3 years is perfect but his agent will demand more.

That's you. I've always liked Evans and last year there were better players available UFA than this year. I don't expect Evans to suddenly become a scorer but he's a good player away from the puck.

I like Evans too, but last year I was starting to get over him, but he finished the season well and has been playing exceptionally well this year. I prefer going with the player we know in general.

And I think you're underestimating Gourde, that guy is a beast. Got to watch him live many times with the Kraken.

When he was 28? Id agree with you.
 
I'm really looking at 4 years for habs to be contenders.

At centre we will look like

Suzuki
Hagens /Misa / Hage / Something
Dach
Beck
Kapenen
Davidson

Don't see a place for Evans with real money.

Evans for 2 years would be perfect imo. Though he will obviously want more.

But can't pay him for his 30 shooting percentage.

Really just need a stop gap solution.

That's in 4 years and in your estimation. Do you think Molson will wait another 4 years after pushing the "in the mix" narrative?

Yeah, Evans is having a career year. I don't expect him to repeat a 31% shooting percentage.

Gourde is pretty much on pace for his normal stats, and has some of the best analytics on the Kraken. But my point was just to show that there is some options.

Gourde is a 0.57 ppg player that was bolstered by one 64 point season which is like what Evans is doing with this hot streak. Evans is a 0.37 ppg player historically and that's what he should be paid on. Also, Gourde was making far more than 1.7m per.

Gourde is on the decline at almost every metric this year.
