Petry looked awful in Edmonton when he was asked to be the team's best defenceman.
He looked good in Montreal when he was the team's 2nd/3rd best defenceman.
I like him a lot, but he cannot replace what PK does for us. Thats just silliness, and ignores the importance of the minutes PK plays.

Not silly if it solves us a big problem that we had for many many years... getting a top 3 big centerman.
Not trilled in loosing Subban, but a gutsy trade like that would make us a better team.

Solves one problem but creates the new problem of not having a number 1 defenceman. Something almost all cup champions have.
Petry is not a true number 1... and markov should be a number 3 not 1 at his age.
The moment you make the deal you start looking for a norris caliber dman.

I agree with that. Plus PK act as a media shield for the rest of the players as he loves having all the attention directed to himself, which makes the life of the other guys much easier.
