New Canadian Politics Thread

So much fuss over the budget yet if you look into it, the spending that is being proposed should have been done decades ago.
Mining? High Speed train? Yes. We are way fucking behind on this. You need to spend money to make it.
One of my favourite stories is with Toronto back in 2003' when David Miller got elected as mayor over the "Cost" of a bridge to the Islands. He boasted he saved tax payers money. We are now spending more 23 years later to replace fucking ferries to get people there.

Canada has rich resources. That's why Trump wants us so bad. Spend money to actually profit from them. (Check-out what Russia is spending in Siberia on resource extraction).

Everytime I take a VIA train it's infuriating. they have to wait on freight trains and are always late and horribly overpriced and are so slow. With stops you can be on a train 6 and a half hours (7+ if delayed and it occurs a lot)to go from Toronto to Montreal? WTF?

Not his *only* job!

His incredibly deep work history prior to becoming an elected politician also includes:

  • Working as a telemarketer for the Jason Kenney campaign

  • Briefly working as a call center agent in Telus’s collections department

  • Fetching coffee for Stockwell Day for a few years after Day was first elected as an MP

…and that’s it.
 
Yeah, the consequence would be that Pee-Pee loses his job.

My wife, a career federal civil servant, used to work with Jeneroux years ago. Says he was a nice guy and she told him once that her only disappointment with him was that he decided to be a Conservative.
