New Canadian Politics Thread

I don't know, but they were saying something like "smaller polls get results first, while bigger polls (advance polls) come out later" 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, which makes sense. If you live near a rural poll where like 40 people voted, that shit doesn't take a long time to count.

23 of the Atlantic ridings have reported in enough for CBC to list them and it 16LPC, 7CPC right now. The last few ridings to report in Terra Nova (a NFLD riding the CPC took an early lead in) have tightened that race up. 50.4-45.2 with 78 of 270 reported.

So CPC already at 7 there guy mentioned as the breaking point.

He pulled that out of his ass. Call me in Quebec and Ontario. If LPC starts looking to fall significantly short of 42 seats in Quebec, and 82 in Ontario, I'll panic alongside with all of you.

Liberal Targets to hit 186.

Atlantic: 25
Quebec: 42
Ontario: 82
Prairies: 14
BC: 20

Libs will want Terra Nova. Going 4-3 in Newfoundland would be a pretty hideous result. 5-2 is fine. None are catastrophic of course.

Oh CBC just mentioned a crucial point: early voting hasn't been counted yet?!

Most of those go to the Libs I bet.

It's too early to care.

Seriously for the good of your mental health stop watching, set an alarm for 9:30 EST and take a break. I just took my own advice and killed all of my open tabs with election stuff.

I love my atlantic canadian brethren, but they're not indicative of where the country is going one way or the other. Ontario and Quebec are the kingmakers and we'll know in about 1.5 hours how things are starting to look there.
