New Canadian Politics Thread

Like your leader? If he accepted the results of the last election, he would not still be your leader.

That’s a pretty hilarious point. Going on about accepting the results of the general election while being led by a guy who lost his seat in that general election.

Also such a loser approach to try and pretend a Liberal majority is somehow undemocratic or unrepresentative of the national will when pretty much every poll shows the Libs would add another 20-30 seats to their majority if another general election was held now.

I don't think Carney is "more" conservative than Ford. He's a different type of conservative than Ford though for sure. Carney more of a traditional conservative, Ford more of a modern populist/crony capitalist conservative. I can see why Carney would think that he's more of a conservative than Ford through that lens though. Almost a "no true Scotsman" type of analysis.

I'm not going to speak on Quebec, that's their business what they let their provincial government get up to. But uhhh, Dougie...there's a really good argument for why the federal government of a country the size of Canada, with as many international interests as they have would need their own planes.

There's no argument for why the Premiere of Ontario who spend 99% of his time in the Windsor-Ottawa corridor needs one. It's okay to fly commercial (or even private charter if you insist) the few times a year you want to do a photo opp in northern Ontario champ.
