Fronted the entire cost of the bridge, and instead of getting all of the toll revenue until we’re made whole, we’re dumping 50% of it into an amorphous American slush fund. And the Maroun family seems to have a veto over the toll rates we can charge.

Exactly. I’ve tried. I WANT to. I just can’t justify it. I do my very best to choose Canadian for produce and meats though.

And if you go to Europe, if a wine is more than, say, 15eu (25CAD) at a grocery store, it's basically the super premium brand. The regular wines here are a lot more like 6-10, so like 10-15$ CAD. Every wine in Canada is just super expensive. And if you go to Italy or France, it's definitely cheaper.
