New York Yankees (2010-2013)

Re: New York Yankees

The Yankees have been officially eliminated from postseason contention.

It's been a tough season but really, all things considered, they shouldn't have been this close this late in the season anyway.

Re: New York Yankees

Latest on the Robinson Cano talks:

• The Yankees initial offer was eight years, $138 million. ($17.25M AAV)
• Cano's camp asked for ten years, $310 million. ($31M AAV)
• The Yankees countered with seven years, $161-$168 million. ($23M-$24M AAV)

Quite a gap remaining.

Re: New York Yankees

First order of business for the Yankees is getting Joe Girardi under contract.

Word is they made a substantial offer on Friday and are hoping this gets wrapped up by early next week at the latest.

The Nationals and Cubs have asked for permission to speak with Girardi, whose contract ends on November 1st, but have been denied by the Yankees.
