I’m have mixed feelings about this.

Obviously Springsteen is a good egg, and this is a thoughtful and very generous gesture.

But it shouldn’t come down to the generosity of rich people to help the Little People. It mitigates public accountability and takes public resources off the table.

He'd prob'ly hate it, but would do a much better job. That's almost an insult to the Boss when you consider that most people's little toe, left or right, would do a much better job.
