OT: American Politics

Bezos really fucked up. He could've did the both-sides reporting thing the NY times does, but still give it a corporate liberal stance to maintain readership. Now, he's alienated the left and the right dont read, so he's got a paper with a target demo of nobody.

The money loss is nothing for him but he wanted the prestige and the microphone that comes with owning a paper like that, and that's all been destroyed.

Funny. Mass Deportation signs were all over the Republican convention, and yet they still went ahead and voted for that shit.

Mea Culpas won’t change history and what these people voted for.

It's a country full to the brim with dummies that got psyop'd into authoritarianism and a few hundred million were too stupid or lazy/disconnected to see it.

Also, 100 million are down for it as long as the right people are in the train cars.

I think one of the main things we don't give a lot of credit too, is that for a lot of Americans being a "Christian Republican" is their personal identity.

It is really, really hard to change your personal identity. Too hard, really. Especially if everyone else around you has that same personal identity.

Changing your personal identity is
a challenging, long-term process, not an overnight shift, but it is entirely possible through intentional, consistent, and identity-based actions. It requires replacing old habits with new ones, shifting your self-belief, and often changing your environment.
