I mean, the real reason they're mad at it is that is drives down the birthrate of white babies. There were a bunch of theories about declining birthrates in the west and women's education won. But instead of being a fucking normal society about it and trying to make child birth and motherhood actually appealing, the Americans (well, all of us, but them more than the rest) have decided to make it punitive unless that mother to be is in a relationship with someone capable of supporting a growing family on a single income. But the billionaire class needs a bigger yacht, so fuck you.
So to recap. If you're a woman and you want to be non impoverished mother of 2 you need to:
- Go 5-6 figures in debt to get a good education
- Start and aggressively advance your career to try to make up for the 3-5 year career gap in your resume you're about to cause
- Find a reliable partner of high enough earnings to support you and babies for multiple years
- Keep yourself in good health, the reproductive biological clock is no joke. A lot of women who could have had kids in their mid 20's just fucking can't anymore in by their mid 30's.
- Get pregnant, gestate, have and raise baby until your body recovers....now do it all over again. Congrats, 4 years of your career just evaporated and you'll statistically never catch up to male co workers who were at the same level you were when you start
- You've now graduated to paying a small ransom monthly (2-4K a month depending on where you are in the US) for someone to watch your babies while you try to re establish your career that expects you to put it before your children if you want to advance. So now you're juggling that cost and your student debt at the same time.
