also quite helpful is that major cities tend to not be hellish in the US. It's small cities and down where you really see the decline of the US. NYC, LA, Houston, Seattle, Atlanta, Boston, etc, etc are all quite nice.

I don't think there are many red cities at all. I've done a quick peek and couldn't find any, even in some deep ass red states.
