Why can lefties not do politics? How fucking hard is this....produce a platform with a bunch of solid public safety net, redistributive, and public centric policies

- Tax billionaires and reform the corporate tax code
- Renewables are a national security necessity, immediate cessation of foreign wars over oil
- Rigorous enforcement and further strengthening of anti trust/anti monopoly legislation
- Update IP and tech laws to curb excessive AI growth
- Expansion of Amtrak into other regions of the country...sold to the public as "why does Europe and Asia have things we don't? It's embarrassing"
- Defund ICE, and reform immigration
- Halt military funding for Israel
- Get wall street out of the family housing business. Single family homes are not speculative investment vehicles.
- Medicare for all
- Expand the supreme court, and add term limits
- Reign in the power of the presidency (unravel the work that has been done on the unitary executive)

The problem is people like you and I and our American counterparts love talking about politics but simply vote every four years.

I would argue that the more important votes happen at the primary level because that’s what decides which freaks normies like us get to vote for

yeah, it's truly unbelievable at this point. Like the old saying, "Don't let perfect be the enemy of good".

It's even stupid to keep calling themselves socialists at this point, I get that "Democratic socialist" is very different from fucking Mao, and a keystone element of effective government found in most of the best countries in the world, and that it's unfair that the American right demonizes certain words in such stupid and dishonest ways. But they did it, they continue to do it, so just find another word to use, otherwise you're constantly explaining what socialism actually means and how the right is wrong about it, which is an uphill battle that they won't win for at least a decade. So figure out a short-term strategy that works, and while you're at it, stop sending dipshits like this person on television saying a bunch of stupid fucking nonsense.

At the end of the day, Tankies agree with Putin that the collapse of the Soviet Union was the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the modern age.

And in their heart of hearts, believe that the world would be a better place if Ukraine, the Baltics, Poland and all the rest of the former Warsaw pact countries were returned to Moscow’s loving embrace.

the problem is that it's just such a perversely stupid worldview that simply chooses to ignore all evidence to the contrary, since it's so bloody obvious that life in Russia sucks. And also that people in those other countries who lived under Soviet rule hated every second of it (again for extremely obvious reasons) and have 0.00% interest in ever trying it again, and in fact would rather take up arms than ever go back.
