I think toronto's reputation is fine for now, maybe even got a bit of a boost, but if this kind of thing goes on for long, and becomes normal, then it will most definitely effect the city's rep negatively.

I know you were asking MLBJB, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Ford has drank at meetings before.

We know he has been drinking at City Hall in his office multiple times before. Also allegations of prescription drugs, prostitutes at his City Hall office. So yeah, I do think he would show up at City Council under the influence of something. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

With his known history, yes, I do wonder what he is drinking and drinking so quickly. Who knows.

What it means? It looks really bad on the city, I don't think there's any doubt about that. I have American friends texting me on a daily basis laughing at Ford and wondering what the hell is going on up there and asking if everyone is that ****ed up.

It's embarrassing. I'm not saying it means people won't come here but it definitely gives the wrong impression about the city.

And my "Jesus..." was at the fact that you were actually comparing people saying Ford hurts Toronto's reputation to people saying Harper hurts Canada's. Harper isn't on CNN and Fox being referred to as "Canada's crack-smoking Prime Minister". He's not the butt of every joke on late night television.
