OT: American Politics

Re: OT: Canadian Politics

Except campaign managers aren't usually policy makers. They are different people. One doesn't equate to the other.

If you can find talent to surround yourself in for one purpose, you can find another talented team for the other. It looks like he's going to have a lot of MP's to choose from.
All that to say, I think it's going to be incredibly hard to deliver any of the change that he did well to represent over the campaign trail.

It's alot easier to get a rah-rah moment going at an election rally than in parliament.
Unless if he goes majority there will be brokerage. He's about to have the NDP over a barrel though....and should be able to get a lot of stuff passed while they're sorting out who is burying Mulcair's corpse.

Re: OT: Canadian Politics

CBC currently projecting 165 seats for the Liberals, with BC barely yet to check in....

Re: OT: Canadian Politics

Guys, Corky is right. Since Harper won his third election victory back in the Dark Ages (2011), the invention of television and mass media has resulted in a vast left-wing propaganda machine. The poor sheeple of Canada never stood a chance.

Good thing.
Besides, if your boy's policies were so great, why are they losing by such a landslide now?
Oh, right... the Toronto Star. That's why. LOL!

The last Liberal government left us with a huge surplus. How are we doing now? How can you prefer that change?

Re: OT: Canadian Politics

Was really hoping to avoid a Liberal majority. Looks close...

Would prefer they not get a majority either. Hilarious to me, though, that Harper had a couple of minority governments before finally gaining a majority. Then along comes "Just not ready" Trudeau possibly tossing him with a majority in his first win.

Re: OT: Canadian Politics

Geez, even in a bunch of rural ridings up in Patrick Brown country in Ontario, Conservative incumbents are hanging on to their seats by their fingernails. This is an absolute bloodbath.
