Considering the situation I’m struggling to see a benefit to the Democrats. They could lose seats over this, I don’t see them gaining seats.

Another one is that a strong plurality of independent voters think he’s a guilty, corrupt gangster who should have been impeached but for the partisan super hackery of GOP senators who were cowed by racist evangelical nutbags.

Remember, the Senate math is less favourable for the GOP this time.

What is this summary.

So many things wrong that a list will miss most of them, but hey here goes:

1.steele dossier wasn't the basis of any surveillance, as the IG report detailed, and has nothing to do with the impeachment.
2.members of trump campaign were already under surveillance, and are now in jail.
3.trump campaign was directly warned by the fbi about these characters..
4.the Clinton campaign was also under FBI investigation
5.the deep state fbi actively tilted the election in trump's favor the week of the election by announcing that clinton was under investigation for email security (hilarious), while never mentioning that the trump campaign was under investigation as well.
6. The deep state fbi agents trying to oust trump....were actively cheering on his election win against hillary.
6.trump isn't being impeached for opposition research.
7.trump is being impeached for using the weight of the presidency to gain personal favors, and subjugating US foreign policy to his mob racket (and the specific incident at issue here is only one of many, many examples)
8.trump is also getting impeached for the unprecedented step of simply ignoring the authority of a branch of government, and obstructing justice in a way never seen before.
9.both literally the entire reason impeachment was put into the constitution in the first place.

Much easier to wrap your head around something when you don't wrap your eyes with a blindfold.
 
Let's just say that the Republican party has significantly less power than the CIA, NSA and FBI. Like relatively miniscule. Everyone understands it, in any event.
