Trump probably wants to create a leper's island. Fill all of the covid people on modified cruise ships... ship them off for two weeks and who knows, sink em into the middle of the atlantic.

This was baked into my estimation of him before he was elected. He was always a dangerous jackass at this level. His rampant lying was always going to end up causing loss of life. This is going to be on a scale that I didn't come close to predicting though.

Yeah, this was always my biggest worry with him too. That a legitimate catastrophe would happen on his watch---either something caused by nature, an adversary or a catastrophe entirely of Trump's own making (like if he'd started a full-out war with Iran)---and that his entirely amoral and incompetent handling of the aftermath would results in countless innocent deaths.

I guess you could argue that had already taken place with the way he basically left Puerto Rico to its own devices after Hurricane Maria. But this situation unfortunately is probably going to end up being on an entirely different scale. And there might not be any catastrophe that Trump is more uniquely unqualified to handle than a historic pandemic that's slamming the States particularly hard in his re-election year.
 
The Democrats want to prevent some of the uses that DID go into the 2008 bailouts. "Increased Executive pay, Stock buybacks, Trying to make sure people still get paid." look I'm not saying they'll get everything but the original bill would let the Sect. of Treasury decide who get's what and how much. That to me is a pure handout and should never be part of the rules... I don't care if it was Obama or Bush or George Washington.. (Alexander Hamilton) Way too easy to abuse corruptly. I get the Treasury will be responsible for dispersal but they shouldn't get to choose.

Now I think they will cave on some things but the bill wasn't a good one... as it was.
