i guess you have to get your made-up, fictional "victories" where you can get them, eh jcy? i'm very happily married. i am a very lucky man who is financially secure and with healthy active children. i have a good career that i enjoy. i am highly educated, very well-traveled, and widely-read. you'll just have to take my word for it when i tell you gay marriage doesn't "destroy my soul inside".

And if one of your healthy active children came to you and revealed he or she was gay? Too bad, so sad? You can't marry the person you love?

Look up the map of the NC amendment that was posted earlier. In every single university-located town the majority supported gay marriage. Every single one.

are there any christian colleges or religious-affiliated institutions of higher learning in the state? are they on that map? how did they vote? if they voted in favour are they all stupid too?

i wouldnt love them any less, i wouldnt think they made a "choice" to be gay, i would hope they could find someone to love, share their lives with, and be happy, and i wouldnt call their relationship a "marriage".

never said that. i said my arguments were predominantly sociological. but of course religious belief impacts on people's views of gay marriage. they impact MY views on gay marriage. but the main reasons why i don't support gay marriage are sociological.

You haven't effectively explained any of your "sociological" reasons beyond saying that a gay couple is not as capable of rearing or loving children as straight couples, without providing any supporting scientific proof of that specific claim. It's a baseless argument that has no empirical evidence.

I feel fine because I'm doing an ethical and morally correct, Christian thing in standing up for the rights of others against bigots and bullies.

no i dont. no i didnt. i equated people calling me every name in the book for supporting traditional marriage with me calling supporters of gay marriage pedophiles and creeps.

i have clearly and repeatedly, you've just been too busy calling me a bigot and a child molester to notice. and you continue to miss the point if you insist that nothing is true or possible without empirical, scientific evidence that meets with your approval.
