Again, where is this concern for other nations that have had the bottom fall out from under them?

Should we all be crying for Saudi Arabia and the billions they are losing?

Should we be crying for venuezula and their socialist thug in power and all of the suffering venuezulans are going through?

Christ, maybe we in the west should be concerned about the drop in the standard of living for Russian after all the sanctions we have placed on them?

Or are you just a bloody hypocrite who gets offended when I want to apply what the west is doing in Russia and venuezula to a nation like China?

A world war would need to involve more than China USA and Taiwan. Who else would jump into this rodeo? Europe? No. They are as pathetically cripplingly pacifist as you are. Russia? They don't exactly have the strongest military presence in the east, and striking out at Europe would be unwise, despite of how cripplingly pacifist they tend to be.

Japan constitutionally cannot get involved, and if the would they would side against China.

The Koreas will probably sit it out.

So world war being China USA and the newly formed country of Taiwan?

You guys are blessed, truly blessed, to be living in such a period of peace that you can consider a limited war over Taiwan a "World War"

In that case, I think it's world war 7 we are up to now, because with your criteria, the Napoleonic Wars would qualify, the Franco German war of 1870 would qualify, the Korean war would qualify, the Iran Iraq war would qualify...

U don't need to look far for example of the time it takes to onshore. Ge and Walmart are doing it and building out facilities and hiring/ training g a workforce is a 5-10 year ordeal...

I am more and more alarmed by how supportive people are of China.

I'm sorry, I guess I don't see all of the great work they are doing.

Democracy? No.

Free press? No.

Respecting the territorial boundaries of it's neighbours? No.

Stopped building military islands in international water? No.

Stopped supporting a despotic nuclear armed madman in north Korea who regularly threatens...everyone? No.

Making a effort to combat climate change? No.

Stopped flooding the Tibetan region with native Chinese? No.

Allow the free practicing of religion? No.

Stopped sentencing thousands of people to death each year? No.

Stopped being run almost entirely on the business of corruption? No.

Stopped trying to undermine the democracy in Hong Kong? No.

Stopped threatening Taiwan over their legitimate claims of independence? No.

But they do make the IPhone, I give them that. Oh, and the manufacturing jobs that people say don't exist anymore. What a great place. Go China go. May every country in the world be run as well as you.

They were still somewhat integrated into the European economy. As the second largest(Pretty sure) economy in the world at the time, one would have expected a much larger effect on Europe, but that didn't exactly come to pass.

The fall of America isn't scheduled to happen anytime soon. Experts are saying the fall of china can happen in our lifetimes if things continue as they are right now. Also, the dark ages? Yeah, global(European) pandemic will do that. Bad example

In all likelihood, it wont come back to American/the west. Corporations have gotten addicted to low cost labor and will just move to another low cost country. Vietnam for example. Or they just automate more. There is no win there, and I said it tongue in cheek.

My work computer was not built in China and my Samsung phone was built in either Vietnam or Korea.

My Laptop could have been built in Taiwan, China or the Czech republic. Hoping for Taiwan, it would be poetic.
