They don't care. Journalism today consists of a headline designed to generate clicks. Besides, the reporters' corporate overlords are all in the tank for Trump and/or they don't want to piss him off. So even if a reporter WANTED to tell the real story, unless they have the gravitas of a Rachel Maddow, their story probably never sees the light of day anyway.

Well, first of all, no. These things are only permissible when MAGA is in charge. If a Democrat does it, all the right wing snowflakes go ballistic (i.e. Trump can have a 3rd term but not Obama or Clinton and Biden can't even have a 2nd term)
Also, there aren't going to be any more Democratic Presidents because American democracy is simply performative now. Elections but nothing changes.
