Sadly, a closed Hormuz hurts Europe and Japan a lot more than the US (which produces it’s own energy)

It pushes them onto the spot market and fucks them harder now, but when existing supply contracts end and new ones are signed at todays pricing, everyone feels it. A rising tide drowns all swimmers, eventually.

every smartie pants I've heard opine on the matter suggests that the US is the most sensitive major economy in the world to energy cost shocks regardless of being a net exporter.
