OT: Cars

Alittle boxy for me.

If I went German it would be BMW or Audi.

Used to have a 330i that I loved. Trying to get something nice and still be relatively practical.

The Tesla sedan supposedly (have yet to sit in one) has an absolutely stunning interior. Fit and finish is huge in that segment and it's supposedly neck and neck with the euro's of the same pricepoint while being, you know, as efficient as a 500CC motorbike. It's very, very interesting. I Think the real historic part of it is that it's finally got a long enough range for most people.

And yes, it's absolutely ****tastic looking.

Habsy, have you looked at the Fisker Karma? similar in some ways and maybe even better looking.

The GLK is a nice enough car but doesn't handle in quite the same league as the Audi or Acura. It still has vestigiable truckness.

I just got an A3. The German cars don't have the same tech and comfort that the Japanese cars do for similar prices but oh man are those things fun to drive. Love the audi.

You've changed man, you used to be cool.

Practical to me would be the S5...because of quattro. That's practical in a Canadian winter. Whatever you do, don't buy a vehicle planning on children you haven't even created yet.

I'm not looking at the 7-seater MDX or anything. Just trying to cover a couple of bases in case my priorities change in the next few years.

I see it all the time - the reason so many people tread water is because they a) don't plan, and b) make poor decisions with cars.

By the way, both cars are full time AWD.

I've never considered an AWD car (partly) because it makes laying rubber harder. I think that may make me immature...

It's the only thing keeping me out of a C63 AMG really...I ****ing want one, but I'm terrified that it will be ridiculous to handle in the winter.

It will be. Even my 330i RWD with winters was a tough drive.

These RWD cars with loads of torque are a nightmare in the winter.

Which is why I'm leaning S5....BMW's AWD system isn't nearly as good as Quattro, and the Porsche AWD options are hella expensive. I run an Infiniti right now, and I like it, but the G37 AWD doesn't appeal to me that much. Audi seems like the sensible choice....but I can't listen to the audio of the C63 exhaust anymore...it get a ****ing semi every time I do.
