OT: Fanboy fight: XBox V Playstation

I think it runs a bit deeper than that with gaming systems. Growing up, most of us didn't have the coin to grab every game system we wanted so you had to pick a side. You were likely either a sega kid or a nintendo kid.

Even now, I don't care to own more than one console, so for me it's a choice between mario kart and good sports games. It's an easy choice. It's easy to develop a bit of dislike for a company that you don't see as giving a **** about your wants as a gamer.

I've never understood the fanboy fervour that turns into hate...but yeah, I guess it is like politics.

not sure that history is there because a) sega is gone and b)
when i was a kid we had one system (sega genesis), one TV, one computer, one phone (for a family of 6)

now my house has 8 computers/laptops/chromebooks, 6.5 gaming systems (sega classic thingy, ps3 and 4, xbox 360, wii, wii u, switch), 3 TVs (for a family of 2)

Having a PS3 & 4 at current is the only time I've had more than one at a time though.
 
Yay another dreamcast owner. I loved my dreamcast.NBA 2K on the dreamcast was perfection. I even had the light gun for time crisis. Also had it modded so had almost the whole catalogue before they killed it.

I still have my Atari 2600 with the cartridges. The box still has the woolco sticker for 499!!!

No Sega Saturns? I remember how cool that one was when it came out. Panzeer Dragoon had mind blowing graphics. So funny to look back at it now.
 
I had colecovision, SNES, N64, Wii, then briefly an XBone. Roomate one year had a gamecube (well, I won it but sold it to them).
Handheld I had a game gear.

Currently don't own one, and not sure how to justify spending the amount on a new console, never mind the annual subscription and the cost of games, when I can just pick up something like Cities:Skylines for 10 bucks on the steam summer sale and have that eat away my hours when I don't want to do anything.

NHL 18 beta is out on PS4 and Xbone. They brought back 3v3 and its amazing. Having a Leaf(Matthews) to play with in the game brings a tear to my eye. Gone are the years where i'd have to trade for other teams players to use on the Leafs.

3v3 All Star mode allows you to play a line of Matthews-Kucherov-Hedman. Nasty nasty nasty. They've improved the dangles in this game a bit as well.
