OT: Favourite Youtube videos

Re: OT: favourite Youtube videos

I just posted this in the soccer thread and thought I;d repost here since #1 - it's really good... and #2 - non soccer fans who don't frequent that thread may enjoy this... not on youtube but it should be imo:

I haven't really watched the games but I wanted to mention the CBC special they have after the late night games (think it's Sat and/or Sun nights).

The "Africa on the Move" documentary CBC put together is fantastic. I know canadian tv is pretty awful and leaves a lot to be desired, but CBC hit it out of the park with this one.

In case you missed them, you can view the episodes here.. I only watched parts 2 and 3, and they're just excellent. And I think another part is coming this weekend - they'll have the 4th and final part on the web soon:

http://www.cbc.ca/documentaries/africaonthemove/index.html

I Love the rapper and what he does for his people. Raising awareness, building schools with his concert proceeds so kids can learn how to read and write.. and he's just an all out fantastic human being.. Love how when he received a handful of US 100 dollar bills at his feet (literally) from that politician, he threw the money at the poor concert goers.. He just won't be bought under any circumstances.

just love that guy with his strong mind and just how he carries himself as an individual.

And another warrior in that other part there.. who goes from the city to the countryside to support his family and friends.. owns a safari business.. it's just excellent.

I'll stop now, I don't want to ruin it.

CBC handpicked some special people in this doc, and did a great job with it.. Had some very nice angles with good perspectives. This is something I will save to show my son when he's older.. and our daughter soon (as this program was late at night when I was watching it, past her bedtime).

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITXS0U3_sWw"]YouTube- Brandon Marshall Highlights[/ame]

Brandon Marshall (born March 23, 1984), nicknamed "The Beast,"is an American football wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League.

Marshall is known for his ability to break and dodge tackles. He led all NFL wide receivers in yards after first contact for the 2007 NFL season.

Regarding Marshall's breakaway ability, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers said, "Brandon Marshall is a defensive lineman playing wide receiver. He wants to inflict punishment on you. He wants you to try to tackle him so he can shove you off of him and get more yards."

Oakland Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha said Marshall is "the toughest guy to bring down, one-on-one."

On December 13, 2009, Marshall set an NFL record for receptions in a game with 21. He is also only one of five players in NFL history to catch at least 100 passes in three consecutive seasons.

On April 14, 2010, Marshall was traded from the Denver Broncos to the Miami Dolphins for a second round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and a second round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft

Re: OT: favourite Youtube videos

That guy has a really huge front yard...and to answer the question "What does it mean?" It means that you should not do the whole bag, of whatever it is he's on, all at once.

That's just too much.

Re: OT: favourite Youtube videos

Last night on sportsnet they were showing this.... I was glued

all about columbia's pablo escobar and the escobar soccer player who was killed for the own goal in 94.

GREAT DOC

Really good insight as most of the interviews are with escobars men and the players.

Re: OT: favourite Youtube videos

I was flicking channels and luckily caught it early and couldn't change it. It really goes into depth of the whole pablo thing and his love of soccer and how all of the cartels owned teams. It must have been TERRIFYING to play in the league back then.

Another really good doc which was made from the book with the same name is "Killing Pablo" Really in depth.

Marshall last year in 09... Jesus Christ!!

Sorry, just giddy because we haven't had a wide receiver so multi-talented since hall-of-famer Paul Warfield of the 1970's...

Re: OT: favourite Youtube videos

Too bad Henne is barely a pro-starter.

And before you write a novella on why he is, he just isn't (yet).

Re: OT: favourite Youtube videos

No need for a real long novel here, because wherever you go, and whoever you hear, they say-

http://www.nfl.com/videos/miami-dolphins/09000d5d818ca4d8/Henne-s-progress

And of course, looking at the real numbers and where he ranked in the league in just his first season last year:

http://footballoutsiders.com/stats/qb

And of course, Henne had a winning record as a starter last season (7-6) - despite 7 players on IR and other injuries, the hardest schedule in the league, not having a very good WR corps to work with, and losing both his #1 and #3 running backs for the season.. Henne showed the poise and ability to put the team on his back numerous times after being down by multiple scores, leading the team back and winning some of them. The ability to put the team on your shoulders to get back into games is a main quality people people look for in QB's (and for a 1st year starter that's pretty damn good). "Barely a starter" my ass. Stick to hockey

funny cork that you mentioned that on his wedding night

http://forums.thephins.com/showthread.php?t=51059

just found out while perusing one of our boards.. knew it was this summer sometime but didn't know the exact day... good for him anyways.

EDIT- gotta love the guy when he said he will be postponing his honeymoon so he can continue working towards the season (even though he has a few weeks off here before the start of training camp - he'll be at the team facility working hard along with studying film).. i remember him saying that they will take their honeymoon after the 2010 season

Winner.
