Canadians are just not passionate enough about baseball, you need to average somewhere around 20,000 fans/game even if you are out of the playoffs consistently. The Jays are barely passable. I don't think Montreal can do this on a consistent basis, when the new stadium is not considered an attraction anymore.

A lot of teams average in the 20,000 -25,000 range and have been around for ages.
20,000 is the minimum. 30,000 you are doing very well. But lets face it, 30,000 is a bit unrealistic for many of the baseball franchises considering the economic times.

20000 isn't 2 million a year which is the benchmark given baseball salaries.

Most baseball tickets are cheaper than hockey simply due to the size of the venue.
Of course, some years, Montreal barely had 10000 a game.
