OT: Movies/TV Shows

Marvel's next Spiderman reportedly will not have him shooting webs.

He will need to carefully weave them and lightly toss them at villains.

Imagine the poor saps who watch a Bond movie for the first time expecting good clean fun based on the now wholesome posters, and get absolutely shattered by the gun violence they see in the opening scene.

There is a risk of causing some serious trauma with a lesser known property such as Bond.

I *think* in Moonraker, James Bond only fires his gun once (if that). Course, I think it's one of the worst of the Bond films (not specifically because of that heh).
I still love all the Roger Moore films. Those were the ones that were actually being released when I was a kid, and that would be replayed on regular tv every once or twice a year. I'd go nuts for it.

Moore did something no one else did, he tried his own interpretation of Bond and it worked given ethe scripts he was given. I liked the fun charm he had going.

Because this is what "woke" actually is. Corporations doing performative bullshit that no one anywhere actually likes, and the left getting blamed for it.

There are no gun control advocates out there going door to door to get signatures on their petition for mental health screenings being a requirement to have a gun ownership permit that will see this and fist pump as if it's a great victory for the movement.
I agree. I've always thought an example like this is what "Woke" is. Corporations afraid of anything that involves what they determine to be "risk" and going hilariously overboard. This is idiotic. You would think after Spielberg removed guns in ET and the backlash 20 years ago they wouldn't have done this.
That Moore A View To Kill poster just looks like an old dude looking confused without the gun.
No one wanted guns removed from James Bond.

Craig nailed the intersection between charm and killer. If they want to switch it up, go young from when Bond first gets his 00 designation and build a multi movie arc towards a good villain reveal.
