Ray Donovan is on my list of shows to be watched. Recommend? I've seen you mention it a few times in this thread.
I very much recommend it. I believe it's currently the top show on TV.

She actually has a place in the right role though. That overbearing woman who has broken her husband's will... like in Knocked Up.

San Andreas seems to follow the same plotline of every disaster film. The couple is getting divorced and the wife finds a real sleze to hook up with. The disaster killing millions brings them back together.

Stephen Colbert seems to have found his groove as host of the Late Show. I am really enjoying him after a few shacky episodes to start.
I'm not sure a replica of his old show would work for the Late Show.
He's done a nice job of bringing in parts of his old show into this "late night" atmosphere imo. I preferred his old show, but I think he's probably already my favorite "late night" guy. At least on par with Kimmel for me.

The issue with his old show was he was playing a character. It's a tricky situation to now be host of a network show.

It would be impossible to make the show as good as the Colbert Report. First of all the late night talk show format sucks, half the show is interviews with people no one cares about. Also now the show is twice as long, which is pretty hard to fill with the same quality of content.
Then obviously the Colbert character was one of the best TV characters in recent memory. That is a tough standard to recreate.
But IMO all those shows stink. You get a decent bit every once and a while that ends up on youtube, and thats about it.

The traditional Late Night format is dated and needs to change.
Colbert has definitely bent the late night format as much as anyone has in a long time. His current show is quite different than the others.
One thing I love is that he's still got one political/educational guest every episode. Then of course to appease the sponsors he has a dull celebrity each episode too.

always a good call...and really, you only need to watch the first 6-7 seasons anyway. that's most of the best stuff.
