OT: Movies/TV Shows

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

Watched "The Descendants" last night....thoroughly enjoyed it.

Have "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" queued up for tonight....#cantwait

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

Went and saw Titanic 3D on Friday with a few friends. Not a big fan of 3D in general but WOW, did this ever work for Titanic. Amazing! Loved the 3D not so much for the sinking part, which was great but at the beginning when they are going through the wreck. That was really worth the price of admission for me.

The movies story really had gotten better with time too with what is going on in todays society with class warfare.

I used to hate the Jack and Rose storyline but even that seemed better this time around.

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

To be fair, out of that entire cast, Alyson Hannigan has got to be the most successful by far. Not so much in the world of film, but she's been a main cast member in very popular TV shows almost non-stop for about the past 15 years.
Yeah i was going to point out that she had no need to do this movie. She's likely making very significant kwan.

not the teenage space ninja turtles

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

Saw American Reunion over the weekend. Obviously not as good as the 1st, but it has few laughs. Better than your average comedy for sure.

Saw it last night.

Definitely the second best entry in the series. Getting all of the original cast back, including some really obscure supporting characters couldn't have made a better sequel IMO. And going back to old Stifler >>>

One question remains though: how did Hollywood make Tara Reid smoking hot again?

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

(EW.com) -- Peter and Bobby Farrelly have been quietly developing a sequel to "Dumb and Dumber" for awhile now.

Back in October, we heard that Sean Anders and John Morris -- the comedy screenwriting duo behind "Hot Tub Time Machine" and "Mr. Popper's Penguins" -- were hard at work on a script. That was the last bit of news about the project...at least until this weekend, when Peter Farrelly dropped a Twitter-imploding bombshell in the middle of a "Three Stooges" press junket.

"We're getting set to shoot Dumb and Dumber 2 in September," the director told ComingSoon.net. "We've got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back."

Farrelly may have jumped the gun a little bit -- a source close to the production tells EW that the film is "moving along, but it's not greenlit yet." It's hard to imagine a green light is too far away, though -- following last week's announcement about the impending arrival of "Anchorman 2," this feels like the moment for long-awaited comedy sequels. (Also: Is this a big day for Jeff Daniels, or what?)

Can't wait.

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

"Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" was great......had a similar pacing to "The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford", so it's not for everyone, but I threw that on late last night and enjoyed the shit out of it.

It was like a great glass of scotch and a fine cuban cigar.....
