OT: Movies/TV Shows

I didn't watch the final Sparty season, but I assume they threw in his kidnapping by pirates as a storyline to flesh out the angle a little more.
 
There's a screener for Place Beyond the Pines floating around. I watched it and what a terrible letdown. The first part is very good, second is "Ok", third is just terrible. Just wait for the third act with the kid that is supposed to be Copper's son. Wow. What a terrible actor and he's horribly mis-cast. He looks like the son of Joey Fatone.
 
As a fan of this book since I was a kid, I was a little pissed to hear they were making a movie out of it...because I wanted to turn the book into a movie myself.

I hope they do it well, because it could be great if they do it right.

How good is Ben Kingsley??? I am watching Hugo today with my students, where he plays an amazing Melier, Then on Sat I am taking my son to see Iron Man 3 where he plays The Mandarin... and then in this trailer he's got tattoos all over his face a la a samoan warrior. This from the guy who first majorly broke on the scene as Ghandi incarnate..

That guy is awesome.
 
I started watching Banshee and it's pretty good so far. I get the sense these guys are trying to create a Breaking Bad type of show so we'll see how it continues.
 
I saw Pain & Gain, very strange film, and considering it was based on a true story makes it even more bizarre. Not sure if Bay's idea was to get people to sympathize with the criminals, but I could not get behind Wahlberg's character, totally detestable.

I enjoyed The Rock's character and Bar Paly's eye candy.
