Congrats bud ... I'm fortunate to know just how good that feels. And it's pretty doggone good.
A. UConn certainly didn't have a deficit in athleticism at the guard positions. Size maybe, but there's probably only one or two college guard combos as quick as Napier and Boatwright. They were just brilliant throughout the Tourney.
B. Yeah ... that dunk was special. People make too much of those things at times, but one ranks up there with Grant Hill's impossible get of that alley opp back in the early 90s on the scale of memorable finishes.

Thanks JB. Now its up to the UCONN Women to complete the NCAA BB sweep. Notre Dame has been their kryptonite over the past couple of years. Now that they are not in the same conference and didn't play each other this year its a battle of the undefeateds for that title. They don't like each other, will be interesting to see how it goes tonight.
I agree with you HurryCanes...this championship for UCONN was all about a team that played together for years now executing their game plan. 3 of them will leave with 2 championships bookending their college BB careers. Its a shame that is the exception today. Its always nice to see a team win it all even without obvously NBA bound firepower...proof that there is still a place for well coached kids with college BB experience even in the world of so many 'one and dones'.

Interesting that both the Womens finalists are undefeated while the two Mens finalists combined for just a boatload of losses. Kind of weird, even when you allow for the top heavy powers impact on the ladies' game.

Your jests do not dull the memories I have of being in the building in both 74 and 83 to see my Pack win the National Championship. Those kinds of memories don't really fade much.
Congrats on the big sweep. Amazing accomplishment for those programs.

As i grew up playing imaginary teams in my backyard in western north carolina, i tended to assume the role of John Kuester or George Karl, as opposed to Monte Towe; having said that, i still remember fondly those wolfpack teams and Norm Sloan's coat. Good times with Thacker, Packer and the Jefferson Pilot ship! If my growing kids are talented enough to get into any of these institutions i won't be complaining.

John Kuester lives in Cary and his daughter is an assistant coach for the UNC womens team.
