But if one is done due to insanity, and the other is done for ideological reasons surely we must apply different methods to ensure the crimes don't happen again...right?

I'd certainly put a stop to, or severely curtail, Islamic immigration to European countries. The values that a large percentage of them possess is entirely incompatible with the cultures to which they migrate.

You've got Islamic ghettos in places like Malmo, Marseille, Amsterdam, and the Parisian suburbs for God's sake. They view it as a slow war of conquest.
 
I don't think you can chalk up the bus guy to insanity, then just say this one was just an idiological thing.

The guys a sociopath. Talking to random people with cameras with blood on his hands holding murder weapons. That's insanity too.
 
Sociopathy is not insanity though.

Sociopaths are convicted of crimes all the time, whereas Li was held not criminally responsible for his actions. One is a form of mental illness and the other is just an absence of empathy.

Interestingly....Greece has 1.3 million illegal Muslim migrants pouring over it's borders despite deporting 500,000 a year. Yet the rest of the politically correct babblers in the EU are screaming at Greece for not being "compassionate" and "racist" for deporting them.

I wonder how Canadians would feel if 4 million illegal immigrants hordes were here and another two million a year poured in.

Greece has an excuse for opposing Islamic insurrection of course.

They've been historically oppressed by Muslims (through the Ottomans) for hundreds of years.

To say nothing of Turkey's illegal occupation of northern Cyrpus that is conveniently never mentioned when the anti-Israel hordes go off on their verbose ranting.

Absolutely it's different.

When specific groups are targeted on the basis of ideology that sentence is always adjusted to be harsher. There's something particularly repugnant about direct targeting of certain individuals.
