OT: The News Thread

That is some serious contrarian investing skills (or shorting, or bonds) for that to happen. Or, as you say, luck.

Luck, entirely.

Having US denominated stocks that went up a little or stayed flat on an ugly day (including a good bit of company stock), when the Canadian dollar sucks shit.

That's also likely.

I'm not willing to put this on mental illness, terrorism, or gun control. These things happen in Canada too.

Hell, my neighbour was in a workplace shooting back in the 90's.

Apparently, the shooter had a twitter acct (since suspended) and was tweeting out vids of the event.

Former employee who worked there, as released at some point I guess. Police were able to release a pic of the shooter taken from the live footage this morning. When the camera was dropped, it showed the shooter holding a pistol.

Still no word on the condition of lady being interviewed, who was also shot. So the death toll may rise to three if it goes poorly.

One thing that really bothers me every time I see one of these shootings is how these shooters feel that being angry entitles them to take someone else's life. If you're someone who thinks that being angry means you are entitled to be violent, **** you!

technological rubbernecking.

I ****ing hate people.

The killer posted the snuff film on his twitter and now liveleak has it on the front page.

I don't even know how to process that.

And this guy trolling everyone....yikes.

The images from the migrant crisis in Europe were nothing short of devastating today. Geezus.

What are the Euros gonna do?

Edit: Well, the photo of the toddler is all over the internet. I'm still gutted. It's horrible.

Note: if you haven't seen it, and now feel prompted to go look, please consider this a fair warning: it's legitimately upsetting.
