The farther away each generation in a wealthy family gets from the original source of wealth the bigger assholes they become. Anyone who watches Succession knows this. And for a real life example look no further than the Trumps. Fred Trump was a small time slumlord. His son Donald was exponentially worse than him. And his sons are dead from the neck up but will die never having worked a day in their lives.

I read this piece, and it’s hilarious. It’s by one of Rush’s friends, and trying to paint him as having died as part of a long tradition of brave men taking risks to boldly advance the cause of human exploration.

When what he was really doing was taking rich tourists to a place that people have visited safely many times before in a piece of junk that ignored all the safety lessons learned by his industry through hard experience for the sake of doing things cheaply and increasing his profit margin.
