OT: The News Thread

Re: OT - The News Thread

I'm not talking radicals. Im talking about my parents, my friends, my brothers, myself, my neighbours.

Radicals are the easy ones to 'pick off'.

The church has been a huge part of my life. They are great at many things such as helping my family have food. Helping my family through loss, etc. The church has a place and it is hard to stay true to the teachings of Jesus...but most people do not understand the teachings.

I fondly remember Pastor Cliff. He would answer all my questions openly and honestly. I remember when some kids were picking on his son and I said I would hit them with my hockey stick (I was like 10). He explained to me why I was wrong...changed my life.

Actually Im going to try and track him down. Pastor Larry too.

I always love it when your talking about the things of God .. the possibilities and probabilities ... and you ask a question of someone who you feel is authoratative and they reply that they don`t know .... for me that shows truth and areas of charater ...
See, as you know and probably better than most of us, many in the congregation try. They try and they try to be the people that they think that God wants them to be when all along , if they read their Bibles, they would learn that God just wants willing vessels to go out and make disciples of all nations .... The more you fill, the more you get filled ... and from the paragraph I am using as my quote, you have been filled .....maybe you can help them to understand the things which they so desperately crave for ... that little hole in their hearts to be filled by the only thing that can fit into it .. God.

Re: OT - The News Thread

That a man should love his wife and his wife is to honour and obey the husband.

Do you seriously believe this bullshit you're spewing? And you wonder why we live in a ****ed up world. Its because people like you follow this like it's a code.

Its not 1955 anymore McFly. Wake the **** up already

Re: OT - The News Thread

To steal one from ME, reading comprehension muther****er. Try it

I was talking about the leaders who sit on their high horses in the Vatican. You know, the ones who cover for pedophile priests. Ya those you hold so high and mighty who preach the word or the lord and go against everything it stands for.

Here is a quote for you.."Beliefs are dangerous. Beliefs cause the mind to stop fuctioning. A non functioning mind is clinically dead. Believe in nothing"

I have never ever held them in high and mighty places ...
Once again you are making a correlation of the catholic church to christianity.
And to return to your quotes AGAIN .... believe in nothing ??? Cause the mind to stop functioning ... lol Clinically dead ... how do you know a mind is clinically dead when you dont believe in anything and making the statement shows a belief in the words you speak and you dont believe in anything ......
By the way my name is not mother -------

Yup I believe it and whats more I think that you believe it too ... that is why you are getting so angry about everything ....

Re: OT - The News Thread

Well, have a nice evening all ... going to go fishing .... you guys should organize a fishing trip for the board ... if you ever do, I know some lakes miles and miles back where I havent seen more than 15 people in 20 years ... lots of fish too ... maybe we can talk artnes into going and then we can tie him up and sing hymns to him for hours on end but it wont matter because he will only unbelieve that we are really there and chose to unbelieve that he even exists lol.

Re: OT - The News Thread

tie me up like your pastor would a 4 year old?

Here it is in black and white. There is no god, we evolved from monkeys and when you die you rot in a box.

Go pump your bible to someone else chruchy

Re: OT - The News Thread

You'd be hard pressed to find something that Christians aren't against, in fact I can't think of a more intolerant organization than the Catholic Church.

Just a bunch of closeted fags and pedophiles.

complete and total BS. pretty much every single one of the most tolerant, liberal, and free nations on the face of the earth are western nations steeped in catholic/christian traditions. that isnt a coincidence.

and its pretty funny to see you talk about "intolerance" and then smear the entire cahtolic church as being "fags and pedophiles".

They're also nations that fought to remove themselves from the control of the Church and in many cases, saw fit to separate religion from politics.

The countries that still live under religious rule are complete shitholes for the most part.

yes, but what religion fostered an openness and a political culture that permitted religious freedom and tolerance and that ultimately was secure enough to ALLOW for the removal of religion from the levers of political power? the catholic/christian ones.

western society is free and open and liberal and tolerant BECAUSE of our catholic/christian roots, not IN SPITE of them.

Holy shit.

So now catholicism deserves brownie points for not successfully forcing itself into politics in all countries against popular opinion?

Revisionist history is fun kids.

Re: OT - The News Thread

"revisionist history" is it? line up all the world's truly free and fair liberal democracies and calculate how many of them come from catholic/christian traditions. then come back and tell me its "revisionist history".

Re: OT - The News Thread

The people who fought, and won freedom typically fought against the Religious establishment to gain it.

Religion can't act as an impediment to freedom, and then have it's proponents pretend that only because of that impediment did our society develop some measure of social and political freedom.

Re: OT - The News Thread

meaningless non sequitur. i have a couple of dozen free, liberal christian/catholic western democracies backing me up. you simply have

this symbol: :facepalm

backing you up. i win.

Read a book for once, dillhole. I have hundreds of years of history backing me up.

Re: OT - The News Thread

If we've learned anything here today kids, it's that KB does not teach history classes. Evidently he believes human society began sometime in the 1950s.
