How do you know he stopped 30 years ago...

Did you read the allegations in the piece? It doesn't take much to consider that someone high up in a drug enterprise may not have cut ties 100%.

I still think you are pulling my leg a bit.

I should add though, I am merely responding as though these allegations were true...if they are false then obviously this is all nonsense.
 
There is nothing to suggest that it didn't stop. That is pure speculation on your part and completely unfair.

If he is still involved in drug trafficking that is a completely different story. But you can't say "he was a drug dealer in the 80s therefore he is still a drug dealer."
 
i think this is all reflective of enormous family dysfunction and a whole lot of things swept under the proverbial rug.

the sister is something else. dating kkk members, having an ex-boyfriend murder a current boyfriend, being shot in the face by a boyfriend and his friend.

i guess the truth is that the most damning allegations are against the older brother and sister, though -- and neither of them are in public office.

I never said any of it. You asked why it was an issue, and I responded that it was obviously an issue if the allegations are true.

This conversation is all hypotheticals since I don't put a lot of stock in unnamed sources.

The only thing I agree with is that I would never knowingly vote in a confirmed hash dealer. I aspire to better leaders (not that that has proven all that effective).
 
No I asked why selling drugs 30 years ago as a kid is an issue.

Not why being involved in the drug trade now is an issue.

They really do paint a picture of a troubled family - and not run of the mill type dysfunction.
 
A politician's past is always relevant when it comes to assuming their duties in public office. Past behaviour is always the best indicator of future behaviour. If the public does not trust said politician, then that individual can't be taken seriously to govern an important municipality like Toronto.

With all the other stuff that this guy has done to make the news, this is merely another feather in his cap. As a whole, I don't know how he can continue to run this city.

How about if the smoke, snorted or shot up? I can think of one who is president and gets a complete pass from the media. But then again, he's not a white, rich fat guy.

How can you make such a broad, damning claim? From personal knowledge? From reporters who now look like Enquirer inquisitors?

Are none of you bothered with the Enquirer path main stream reporting has taken? "Unnamed sources"? Secret meeting in the back of cars given as proof?

Would t hat past behavior also an indicator of running the most powerful country in the world? Or is that particular to those you don't like? Or of a certain race/colour/religion/politics?
