OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

well that's the thing. He's not a guard. He's some kind of funky hybrid that does a bunch of stuff an elite level but is tragic at some other stuff. Can't use him like a traditional guard. I don't know what the answer is really, but he's a guy a smart team rolls the dice on...

He's a point forward.

Is he much worse a shooter than Giannis was at the same age? Not really.

If Dame wants out of Portland, or rather Embiid convinces Dame to come play with him in Philly then Simmons/Lillard trade seems to be the thing IMO

Giannis is only 1.5yrs older than simmons.

At age 24, outside the Paint:

Giannis 4.4fga
Simmons 0.5fga

Simmons simply doesnt shoot jumpers ever.

I keep looking at it and I think it's more like McCollum than Dame. Simmons + Thybull for McCollum + Covington might work. Dame is too good. Then the 76ers can try a S&T for Lowry. Hill is partially guaranteed, so there's probably a way to get it done depending on how much $$ Lowry wants...

Lowry
McCollum
Harris
Covington
Embiid

I think Philly can do better than McCollum, but maybe not.

And i only said Dame if he asks out. If he doesn't Portland doesnt even think about it.

I too would offer Siakam without thinking

McCollum is better than you think. Not saying it's the only deal, but considering what they need, it's a pretty good one.

Its fair to criticize siakam for not being good enough to be a 1st option.

But he already proved himself as a damn good 2nd option on a championship team.

Simmons has been a playoffs flop even as a 3rd/4th option.

Has Simmons been a 3rd option ever though. Sure his play reduced him to that but going to every game he's expected to be the co star on the floor. He may not be mature enough to handle that pressure.

He was the 3rd option this year behind embiid and harris. Though seth curry might even have something to say about that.

4th option when we beat them with siakam as our 2nd option, when Jimmy was there.

it was reported that Sixers didn't re-sign Butler because they didn't want to upset Simmons (who bitched that he was being relegated to off-ball duty)

PHI playoffs this year:

FGA

1. Embiid 17.9
2. Harris 17.9
3. Curry 12.3
4. Simmons 7.9

USG% (starters)

1. Embiid 35.1
2. Harris 24.2
3. Curry 18.2
4. Simmons 16.2

Raps Championship

FGA

1. Kawhi 20.7
2. Siakam 16.0
3. Lowry 11.5

USG%

1. Kawhi 31.0
2. Siakam 22.8
3. Lowry 18.2

Philly teams we beat that playoffs:

FGA

1. Butler 14.6
2. Embiid 14.5
3. Harris 13.9
4. Redick 12.3
5. Simmons 9.7

USG%

1. Embiid 30.1
2. Butler 22.7
3. Harris 18.7
4. Redick 16.8
5. Simmons 16.3

So actually a 4th/5th option so far.

And in case you're wondering he put up fewer assists than Lowry too.
