OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Nope

Phoenix trying to create a market through the media. There is no deal for KD that makes sense for us. We just don't have enough bad money.

Pretty sure i'd take Cam Johnson and 19 for 9 whatever salary and run

Yeah, RJ and the 9 for Cam & the 19 makes a lot of sense for both. RJ fits with their timeline better and is signed for 2 more years. They'll get a decent prospect at the 9. Though there's no one I love there, there are always 1-2 weirdo all stars somewhere in the late lottery of back half of the 1st round, just have to find them. For us, Cam is a big efficiency upgrade offensively, add shooting we need as well. Listed as a PF but plays more like a classic SF. He and Scottie would be pretty interchangeable at the 3-4. Also probably the right type of veteran to put around our young guys. Listening to him on JJ's old podcast gives a pretty good idea of what he is. Intelligent, mature pro.

So, its fucking bleacher report, but this is a proposed 4 way that lands Giannis in Toronto

Toronto Raptors get:

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo (from Bucks)
  • Jalen Smith (from Bulls)
  • Jevon Carter (from Bulls)
Milwaukee Bucks get:
  • RJ Barrett (from Raptors)
  • Gradey Dick (from Raptors)
  • Chris Boucher (sign-and-trade from Raptors)
  • Ja'Kobe Walter (from Raptors)
  • Gabe Vincent (from Lakers)
  • 2025 No. 9 (this and the following picks are all from Raptors)
  • 2026 first-round swap rights
  • 2026 Lakers second-rounder
  • 2027 first-round pick
  • 2028 first-round swap rights
  • 2029 first-round pick
  • 2030 first-round swap rights
  • 2031 first-round pick
  • 2032 first-round swap rights (top-five protected for the Raptors)
Los Angeles Lakers get:
  • Jakob Poeltl (from Raptors)
  • Lonzo Ball (from Bulls)
Chicago Bulls get:
  • Dalton Knecht (from Lakers)
  • Jarred Vanderbilt (from Lakers)
  • Shake Milton (from Lakers)
  • AJ Lawson (from Raptors)
  • $10 million trade exception (Ball)
  • $9 million trade exception (Smith)
  • $1.5 million trade exception (Carter)

That feels super lite and a pick salad for Milwaukee, and kind of simultaniously expensive for LAL and meh for Chicago, but i'll defer to Mindz and Zeke

I mean everyone but 1 person (1.5 if we count Jonas) knew that this has always been a lock so it's hard to be surprised to see that the raps are favorites here. Will be exciting when it's finally official.

The pooh pooh platter

Imagine trading a perennial MVP candidate and the best player you get back is Jake Puddle...and the best pick a 9th overall in an okay but just okay draft.

Yes, if we can get Giannis for the pooh pooh platter, of course I'm in.
